RHS Student of the Week

Congratulations to Austin Strickland, our RHS Student of the Week!!

Student’s Plans After Graduation: I plan to travel the world.

Nominating Faculty Member(s): Mrs. Kelli Gard

Faculty Comments: I have had the privilege of working with Austin through FCCLA for the past four years. During that time, she has grown from an involved chapter member to a chapter officer and now an FCCLA State Officer. She works hard, earns great grades, and balances her academics with FCCLA, drama, NHS, and many other responsibilities.

But what really makes Austin stand out is the way she makes other people feel. I call Austin my “hype girl” because she is constantly cheering people on and building them up. Whether we are at school or traveling across the country for FCCLA Nationals, Austin is handing out compliments to friends and complete strangers. She notices people, finds something positive to say, and isn't afraid to tell them. I have watched her brighten someone's day with just a few words more times than I can count.

That same positivity is a huge part of what makes Austin a strong leader. Leadership isn't always about being the person in charge. Sometimes it is about making the people around you feel more confident, included, and capable—and Austin has a gift for doing exactly that.

Austin is hardworking, involved, positive, and genuinely cares about others. She represents RHS not only as a leader in our school but now as a leader at the state level, and I am incredibly proud of the young woman and leader she has become. She is very deserving of recognition as Student of the Week.
